The Chris Rock Suggestion...

Why would we post the...

Link to Chris Rock's Web Site?

Because, he made us laugh and inspired us with his comic suggestion of making bullet prices excessively high. His price suggestion was something like $ 5000.
In the case of the massacre at Virginia Tech, the mad gunman might not have been able to purchase his ammunition if this were the case.

As impractical as it may sound, we might suggest "double-tiering" prices on ammunition for public sale and purchase. Let's say your a sane, law-abiding citizen who needs ammunition for target practice, etc., any sane and legal use of a firearm and ammunition.

Now let's say your a college student with low to no income, and you have no permit for personal protection nor permits for concealed weapon(s). And, let's say your records show mental instability. Shouldn't the ammunition purchase price be excessively high in this case? Now, it may not be practical to charge such a person a full $ 5000 per round of ammunition. Just legally require a down payment of something like $ 5000 in cash.

Just think, a comedian's joke might actually have saved some innocent lives...

Anti-Violence NOT Anti-Gun

We Thought We Should Make It Clear...

That our new movement is not necessarily anti-gun, but anti-violence. And more specifically, anti-gun violence. We recognize that there are countless guns out there in this world and that the opposite would be impossible to implement.

So, we just want to do some consciousness-raising - some "social engineering" - on a global scale.

The goal/objective is not to take guns away from their owners, but to create a more intolerant atmosphere to the violence and tragedies sometimes caused by folks with guns.

This is not about mind-control, either. Nor is it about totalitarianism. Its more about altruism and a society that is committed to raising awareness against gun violence and the tragedies resulting from it.

Its not anti-gun, its not pro-gun, its just about anti-gun violence. That is, the peace of mind that comes from organizing a cause against all future violence from folks with guns. A future perfect without the fear or occurrence of gun violence.

Our First Day of This New Movement

The First Day of This New Movement...

We were both saddened and inspired by the recent massacre at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007 and other gun-violence tragedies around the world. We would like to see a stop put to this. We realize that we live in a world with guns, and they probably will be with us a long time to come. So why can't we raise global awareness of gun violence and start a movement culminating in our proposed "World Anti-Gun Violence Day"? The proposed date for the first Day is currently April 6th, 2008. If you think this a worthwhile cause, please email us here at the Day web site/blog site.

Note: Please do not send financial contributions at this time. This is, after all, our first day. If the movement looks to be successful, we may be looking for a treasurer or some other financial officer position.
